Healthpoint is a hospital in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, and its Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department runs a 1,000 square metre physiotherapy centre. The department focuses on musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports injuries, covering both conservative care and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation.

The orthopaedic unit treats patients after procedures such as knee ligament reconstruction, knee and hip replacement, rotator cuff surgery, shoulder replacement, fractures and foot and ankle surgery, and conditions such as osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and meniscus tears. Spine physiotherapists treat neck and back pain, sciatica, disc herniation, scoliosis and rehabilitation after spine surgery. The sports rehabilitation unit takes patients through running rehab to return-to-sport and return-to-work assessments. There is also hand therapy and paediatric physiotherapy.

Equipment includes hydrotherapy, an Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill, a Biodex System 4 for return-to-sport testing, blood flow restriction training, a Sensopro balance cage, Kinesis One functional training, gait and running analysis and a rehabilitation gym. Electrotherapy options include focused and radial shockwave, electrical muscle stimulation, interferential current, low-intensity laser, TENS and ultrasound.

Physiotherapy hours are 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Saturday and 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday. Healthpoint works with several health insurers; call 800 6969 to book.
