CHI, The Spa is the Shangri-La spa at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, a resort on Khor Al Maqta between the bridges into Abu Dhabi island. Its treatments draw on Asian healing traditions with Arabian touches, and Visit Abu Dhabi notes a private entrance by the souk.

The massage menu offers Asian Blend (combining Thai pressure points with Balinese and Malaysian strokes), Relaxing Aroma, Deep Tissue Sports and Traditional Thai, each at AED 582 for 60 minutes or AED 811 for 90 minutes. The CHI Hot Stone Massage is AED 900 for 90 minutes, and 30-minute neck-and-back or foot massages are AED 333. Massages for two cost AED 1,280 or AED 1,783.

Beyond massage there is Shirodhara, a Mother To Be massage, a herbal poultice treatment called Herbal Harmony, facials from AED 395, body scrubs and wraps such as Firming Arabic Coffee and Ghassoul, and hammam rituals from the CHI Turkish Bath Ceremony (AED 600) to the 90-minute Royal Hammam (AED 915). Longer CHI Retreats such as the four-hour Arabian Desert Escape bundle several treatments, and there is a nail menu for hands and feet.

The spa is open from 10:00 AM to midnight. Treatments are for guests aged 18 and over; 12 to 17-year-olds need signed parental consent. Arrive 30 minutes early, and note that cancellations within 12 hours are charged in full. Prices include service charge and tax.
